Grand Mercure Okinawa Cape Zanpa Resort, an all-inclusive resort hotel located in Cape Zanpa, one of Okinawa's leading scenic spots, will start lighting illuminations that color the winter night sky from November 1, 2025. Focusing on the largest pool area in Okinawa Prefecture, we will develop illuminations on the hotel premises and Zanpa Beach, and prepare various projects that can be enjoyed with the light.
Background of the project
Cape Zanpa, about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, has a 30-40-meter high uplift coral reef cliff that stretches for about 2 kilometers, and the magnificent scenery of the East China Sea woven with blue gradations spreads out in front of you. On the other hand, rough waves hit the cliff, and it has been known as a difficult place for voyage since ancient times, and this cape has been regarded as an important landmark for voyage. The Cape Zanpa Lighthouse began construction on this cape in 1973. After being lit for the first time in 1974, it was opened to the public in 2001 as a "visiting lighthouse" (a lighthouse that rises). Currently, there are only 16 lighthouses in Japan (*). As you climb the 99 steps inside the lighthouse, you can see the deep greenery of the sea and Yomitan Village below your eyes, and many visitors come from home and abroad in search of this dynamic scenery. The Cape Zanpa Lighthouse, a symbol of Yomitanson, which attracts and attracts many people, and safely guides ships with light that illuminates the sea, is positioned as one of the major illuminations, and illuminations that correspond to the lighthouse lights are illuminated in the hotel. 1． Illuminations that color the largest pool area in Okinawa
During the period, floating lights appear on the surface of the "Tengara Pool" night after the business is closed. As the name of Tangara, which means "Milky Way" in Okinawa's word, the flowing pool of 128 meters per lap has a floating light shining like the Milky Way, and the water surface is fantastically colored.
In addition, we have prepared an experience that allows customers to enjoy as a performer who produces a part of the illumination by walking along the poolside with a lantern on hand.

2． Illumination of champagne gold sparkling on a small path with gadjumals
Gajumaru trees are planted on a small path that leads from the pool area to Zanpa Beach. In the Okinawa region, it is said that there are fairies called "Kijimuna" who protect the house and bring good luck, and it is worshiped and popular as a sacred tree. On this small path, you can enjoy illuminations that color Gajumaru with more than 10,000 LED lights. The simple yet warm light of the champagne gold illuminates the area.
During the period, we will prepare a day when you can enjoy the bonfire with a fire pit, and use the bonfire to make a "smoor" yourself. "S'more" is an American outdoor dessert that eats baked marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched between crackers. As the name "Some more!", it is an addictive taste that perfectly matches the sweetness of marshmallow and chocolate, and the saltiness of crackers.
It is a space that everyone from ADULTS to CHILDREN, couples and families can enjoy, such as talking quietly while watching the glittering golden illuminations under the gajumaru tree that spreads its branches gently to wrap visitors around.

At Zanpa Beach, which is reached through the small path of Gajumaru, the lights installed on the sandy beach illuminate the beach and the sea at night fantastically.
