“A place where everyone can shine” created with the community
"Connected Hirogaru Art Exhibition NASU" is a regional art project that aims to realize a society that respects diverse values through works created by artists with handicaps. Grand Mercure Nasu Highlands Resort & Spa supports this philosophy and provides a place to communicate the expression of artists, and creates opportunities for guests, local residents and staff to understand and sympathize with each other through art works.
Mechanisms that create a cycle of support
The proceeds from the sales of the art calendar produced based on the exhibited works will be used to provide art materials to welfare facilities in the Nasu area and to support artists. This creates a cycle of support that "supports expression → expands the place of activity → return to society", and the art movement from Nasu is rooted in the community and is the driving force that spreads sustainably.
In Nasu Kogen where nature, culture and people intersect
With its rich nature and culture, Nasu-kogen Highland is a place of creation where many artists and creators gather. The Grand Mercure Nasu Highlands Resort & Spa, which stands in that area, serves as a base for transmitting local culture, aims to be a place where visitors can feel the warmth that connects people. Through this project, Nasu will expand the circle of empathy and hope brought about by art to the local community, and disseminate the realization of a society where everyone can shine.
About "Connected Hirogaru Art Exhibition NASU"
"Connected Hirogaru Art Exhibition NASU" is an art event from the Nasu area that aims to respect the individuality of each individual, regardless of disability, through the works of artists with handicaps. It started in 2009 mainly at Gallery Burn and Ma Maison Kosei, a facility for people with disabilities, and has expanded the number of participating facilities and artists each year. In 2016, we received the certification of the Nasu Town Community Development Project and have grown into an activity that raised the area. The charm of art nurtured in Nasu spreads from the region to the world and to the heart of each person. "Connected Hirogaru Art Exhibition NASU" will continue to evolve.
