A reading space that can be enjoyed in a location overlooking Hamanako. The new all-inclusive service "Book Chapel" is grand opening.

On February 1, 2026, Grand Mercure Lake Hamana Resort & Spa, a resort hotel with Hamanako spreading in front of you and enjoying superb views and hot springs (Location: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture; General Manager: Bruce Lee) opened a grand opening of the original wedding chapel space on the hotel premises. In this book chapel, you can overlook the magnificent scenery of Hamanako, and welcome customers as a reading space and photo spot with about 9,000 manga, anime-related books, picture books, etc. In addition, we introduced activities such as "Molck" and "Boccia" outdoors in the hotel hall, which are supervised by "Fearing Corps Co., Ltd." All of them are included in all-inclusive services, and we aim to be a resort hotel with more experience-based activities.

Hamamatsu City is the stage of many masterpieces such as "Evangelion" and "Yuru Can △", and the city is promoting the pilgrimage of sacred places. *1 Real spots such as Bentenjima Seaside Park and Tenryu Futamata Station have also appeared in anime, and have been selected as "88 sacred sites for Japanese anime that I want to visit"*2. This hotel, located in Hamamatsu City, considers waiting times at check-in and check-out, and staying experiences that are easily affected by the weather as issues, and has been working to enhance hands-on content that can be completed within the hotel building. Therefore, we planned this "book chapel" and selected books focusing on popular manga that has a high affinity with anime and manga culture and is set in Hamamatsu City. It can be enjoyed as a new all-inclusive service regardless of the weather on the day of stay and the generation of customers.

"Book Chapel" / Point

Point 1 / This "Book Chapel" is a selection unique to "Anime Holy Land", and has works related to the area, topical comics, and picture books for children that make use of the local advantage. It can be used not only as a chapel with bookshelves, but also as a photo spot where you can take pictures of the magnificent scenery of Hamanako. In the future, we will also play a role as a place to disseminate local culture.
