[Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara] The new lounge "Lounge LE CIEL" will open on April 1, 2026 in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Kashihara municipal organization.

With the opening of the new lounge, we will disseminate the appeal of local culture as a hub that connects culture, people, and towns. We also sell special plans to commemorate the opening.

The hotel "Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara" (Location: Kume-cho, Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture / General Manager: Yusuke Kitaguchi) will open a new lounge on the 8th floor of the hotel on April 1, 2026 (Wednesday).

The opening of this lounge was started as an initiative to walk with the local community and disseminate new attractions in the region on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the municipal organization that Kashihara City celebrated on February 11, 2026 (holiday, water). Was. It embodys the concept as a space as a "starting point to experience local culture and pass it on to the next generation."

Design of "Roundgill Ciel" CONCEPT

 

The CONCEPT of "Roundgill Ciel" is a "bright and clean space where you can feel the warmth of wood." Space design and interior coordination were handled by "Muji Aeon Mall Kashihara".
The entire lounge is composed of flexible layouts, with up to 146 seats available.
The furniture is based on Muji's products and has a simple design with less decoration, so it is a space where anyone can spend a comfortable time, such as business use, solo travel, and family travel.

Old furniture tables and benches that symbolize space

In the center of the lounge, a table of old tools that has been used for many years has been placed as a symbol of space. At Muji, we are cleaning and repairing old houses in Japan and overseas that have completed their role, and we are also working to connect them to the next user while taking advantage of the over-time expressions.
The hotel sympathizes with the idea and adopts restored old furniture. We have realized a space where materials that feel the lamination of time and minimal furniture like Muji are in harmony.
Similarly, in the center, there is a bookcase that collects books on the history and culture of the Kashihara and Asuka areas selected by hotel staff, and the moment of stay naturally leads to interest in the community.

New Kids Space - Coexistence of Play and Learning

In the back of the lounge, we have set up a kids space for families to spend. Artificial turf and logs are placed in the corner of the small rise, creating an environment where small children can play safely. On the other hand, there is a school desk and chair for children, making it a space where you can enjoy reading and quiet time.
It is designed to allow the grandparents generation to talk, the parent generation to relax, the child generation to play and learn, and three generations to share time naturally in the same space.

The idea behind the lounge name “Lounge LE CIEL”

Kashihara City is located in the southern part of the Nara Basin, and is an area with open terrain while surrounded by mountains. Beautiful scenery that harmonizes history and nature, such as Yamato Miyama (Mount Unebi, Mount Miminashi, Kaguyama) and the ruins of Fujiwara Palace, spreads.
Based on its spread, sense of openness, harmony between the image that continues to the future and nature, and its business on the 8th floor on the top floor, it was named "LE CIEL" which means "sky and sky" in French.
The Kashihara / Asuka area is a historical area where you can experience the origins of Japanese culture, and the Yoshino area, which has a World Heritage Site "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountains" spreads around. By utilizing Lounge LE CIEL as a hub for future local Discovery programs, we will position our hotel as a hub connecting culture, people, and towns by strengthening our natural lines that lead from stay to local experience.

2nd anniversary of opening and new lounge opening special plan

Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara will celebrate its 2nd anniversary on April 1, 2026. To commemorate this, we will sell a special plan for "half price for elementary school students and free infants" together with the opening of the new lounge.
