[Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara] Rebrand 2nd anniversary on April 1, 2026. Become a hotel that will be a starting point for experiencing local culture and passing it on to the next generation.
With the opening of the new lounge and the 70th anniversary of Kashihara municipal organization, we will further promote strengthening cooperation with the local community.

Approx. 1 minute walk from the east exit of Kintetsu Kashiharajingumae Station, Urban Resort Hotel, Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara
The hotel "Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara" (Location: Kume-cho, Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture / General Manager: Yusuke Kitaguchi), which is convenient for sightseeing and historical walks in the Yoshino area famous for "Yoshinoyama Sakura" (Location: Kume-cho, Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture / General Manager: Yusuke Kitaguchi) will visualize Kashihara's historical and cultural resources as "experiences" and promote new businesses aimed at passing them on to the next generation.
As the first step, "Muji Aeon Mall Kashihara" has opened a lounge in charge of interior coordination, and can be used by guests staying. In addition, through strengthening cooperation with the local community triggered by the 70th anniversary of Kashihara municipal organization and local Discovery (generational circulation program), this hotel is positioned as a "hub connecting culture, people, and towns", and while walking with the local community, we will aim to build a model for hotels that will grow together.
[Background of this project]
Kashihara has the historical importance, which can be said to be the spiritual starting point of the founding of Japan, but has the problem that its appeal has not been sufficiently transformed into tourism consumption and learning and experiences for the next generation. On the other hand, while the region is willing to act independently, lack of leadership and insufficient CONCEPT linguistication have hindered maximizing potential.
Based on this situation, our hotel aims to create value that will remain as a memory of visiting, as well as preserving culture. Rather than ending it into a temporary event, we considered a project that will lead to the creation of a related population in which connections with people circulate.
[CONCEPT of this project]
In this project, the hotel is positioned as a starting point for experiencing local culture and passing it on to the next generation.
We will promote our business with the following four core values.
1. Provision of experience of local culture
2. Spiritual succession of local culture to the next generation
3. Expanding the base of tourists and promoting revisiting
4. Activation of religious culture centered on local communities, private companies, temples, shrines and temples
[Main measures]
1. Opening of the lounge
The lounge on the 8th floor of the hotel will be opened by Muji Aeon Mall Kashihara in charge of space design and interior coordination, and will open as a sustainable space incorporating reused furniture. In addition to improving the satisfaction of high-value-added customers, we aim to create a symbolic place that is evaluated from the viewpoint of ESG and sustainability.
2. Co-existence with the city through collaboration with local and private companies
Through cooperation with "Muji Aeon Mall Kashihara", we will clarify the attitude of "a hotel that walks with the city" in Kashihara City and Nara Prefecture. We aim to be a place that can be proud of the city beyond the role of accommodation facilities.
3. Development of Local Discovery (Generational Cycle Program)
Throughout the year, the hotel will uncover memories and stories that have been passed down to the community and re-edited as a "discovery experience" that will make you want to share from parents to children, from children to grandchildren. By creating opportunities for stay and sightseeing that can be enjoyed by three generations, we aim to encourage families to visit and create a relationship in which local culture circulates naturally to the next generation.
4. Improve regional brand value through collaboration with Kashihara-jingu Shrine
We will create opportunities to cooperate with information transmission and touch "real storytelling". The purpose is to increase the brand value of the region where the hotel is located.
5. Inheritance of food culture through cooking and beverages
We will carry out events that tell the story of the creator, history, and land, as well as direct production by skilled sake masters and professional chefs, and work to pass on food culture.
6. Nara Traditional Culture Experience Program
We position our hotel as the "entrance of traditional culture" and provide authentic experiences that touch Nara's traditional materials and techniques, such as wood, Japanese paper, and brushes.

[Message from Yusuke Kitaguchi, General Manager of Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara]
This year, Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara is celebrating its 2nd anniversary of Rebrand.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the local people who have supported our hotel on a daily basis.
The history, culture, and people's lives that Kashihara has nurtured will be visualized as "experiences" through the opening of a lounge with interior coordination and design of "Muji Aeon Mall Kashihara" and the local Discovery program, etc. We want to pass it on to the next generation.
In this year of the 70th anniversary of Kashihara municipal organization, all staff will strive to be a hotel that walks with the local community and can be proud of as a "hub connecting culture, people and towns".
